What makes me happy this week is that on almost every trip I’ve had people I know. It really makes you proud as a business owner is to get repeat business. Sometimes it’s hard to know if you’re making an impact. Anybody who runs a small business is happy to see that they’re doing something right. My best test of that in this particular business is when I look out across the deck of the boat and see familiar faces—people who return year after year, turning from guests to friends.
The crew and I are enjoying a proper Maine summer—it’s nice to check out the forecast every day and see nothing worse than “a slight chance of showers”! We’ve earned it.
Wildlife watching has been exceptional this year. Seems like each year we get more and more marine mammals. We have counted three eagles nests and four osprey nests on our regular routes. The birds of prey have been entertaining us to no end.
The Full Moon Sail is coming right up (on Sunday), which is one of my favorite sails of every month! I guess I’m not the only one who loves a full moon sail, because it’s already sold out. However, the moon rises only about 20 minutes later the following night (Monday, July 26) so if you want to join us, that will be your best bet.
